Steven 'Lionheart' Cogdell - Lead & Rhythm Guitar, Lead Vocals

Steven 'Lionheart' Cogdell, is from Cocoa Beach, Florida. He has appeared on City TV's "Breakfast TV", "Electric Circus", MuchMusic's "X-Tendamix" and CBC's "Good Morning Canada". He has played several times live to air on CIUT 89.5 FM. His original songs and the video "Lost Without Your Love" have been played in Canada, the USA, the Caribbean, Germany, Belgium, France, England and South Africa. In Sunforce, Steven has opened for acts like "Burning Spear", "Messenjah" and "Maxi Priest". .

Steven co-founded the reggae group "Sunforce which started his career as a musician, singer, songwriter. For the next 8 years he played and toured in canada and the United States. Steven formed the group "Revelation" in 1989 and shortly after the group released their first 6 song cassette, "Crucial Thing". This release received nation wide recognition from community and campus radio and was played in Germany, Belgium, England and South Africa. Steven combines his steady rhythm guitar with bluesy solos to come forward with a high-energy roots reggae sound.

Uncledropsi - Bass, MC, Recording Artist, Party Animal!!

Uncledropsi, a veteran bassist of 16 years, is a crucial part of the heavy sound of the IrieBand. Always musically inclined, Dropsi learned the clarinet as a teenager. In 1997 he joined the Selassie I Power Band with his brothers, Reuben and Fredlocks. Winners of a Canadian Urban Music Award, these road warriors toured Canada for 6 years.

Dropsi's highly defined style keeps the crowd on their feet and moving to his powerful rhythm.

Henderson 'Love I' King - Keys

Henderson has been in the music scene for quite some time now playing and producing. Henderson has produced for Freddie McGregor, George Nooks, Steve Knight and Prophecy, just to name a few.

Henderson's first major gig was backing Lieutenant Stitchie and Admiral Tibet with his first band The Bomb Squad Band. Henderson continued with this band for three years and then moved to England to continue his musical endeavours. He played at the Ladbroke Grove Festival in London and shared the stage with many different artists.

Returning to Canada, Henderson hooked up immediately with the Juno-nominated band Leejahn. They played the Toronto scene for many years as well as Sunfest in Montego Bay, Jamaica and venues in Barbados.

Once again Henderson moved on to join the Mystical Explorer Band playing keyboards. This project backed artists such as Ken Booth, Mikey Spice, John Holt, Gregory Isaacs, Micigan and Smiley, Singing Melody, Johnny P, I Wayne, Fatan Mojah and toured with Def Jam recording artist, Sizzla Kalonji.

Recently in November 2007, Henderson toured Europe with Black Uhuru and played the 2008 JunoFest, backing Best Reggae Recording of the Year nominee, LJX. He brings an enormous amount of passion and drive to the IrieBand. 'Love I' bubbles!

Shane "Shaky J" Forrest - Lead & Rhythm Guitar & Bass

Shane Forrest, a.k.a. The Shakin’ Jamaican, is a professional lead guitarist, bassist and certified recording & mix engineer. Hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, Shaky J is here to bring the world superior musicianship, professionalism and good vibes. Shane is currently based in Toronto, Canada where he operates SFX Productions composing original Reggae and Rock fusion music and he also performs as a session musician in the studio as well as international touring.

With over 15 years of experience in the music industry, The Shakin’ Jamaican got his start as a teen in the local ‘JamRock’ scene performing alongside local and international acts which included session work for the islands’ famous Mystic Urchin Entertainment Company. Today, as a regular in the Canadian Reggae music scene, Shaky J is the bass player for LJX and has performed as lead guitarist/bassist alongside Farenheit, Snow, George Nooks, Basil Gayle, Errol Organs, Tanya Mullings, Humble and Glen Ricketts to name a few.

Shane has performed in music festivals such as Montreux Jazz Festival , the ‘How Can I Be Down’ tour, Blue Balls Festival, Caribana, The Ottawa Reggae Festival, NXNE, and loves to travel to the US and abroad to share his talented vibes with the world. When not playing an instrument, Shaky J spends his time producing music and is an “in demand” audio engineer.

Lisette Cogdell -Lead & Backing Vocals

Lisette Cogdell is a veteran of the Canadian music scene. She has enjoyed a successful career, performing at venues such as Massey Hall, HarbourFront, Roy Thompson Hall and many others. She has completed solo and collaborative projects including television, backing vocals for various artists as well as CD releases and compilation recordings. Lisette is an exquisite vocal stylist and, with her joy in life and love of music, she continues to engage audiences wherever she performs.

Isax InJah - Saxophone

Hailing from Toronto, Canada, saxophonist Isax has brightened the sonic landscape from corner bars to concert halls, performing and recording with many top artists throughout his illustrious career,including Jackie Mitoo,Dennis Brown,King Jammy,Ken Boothe,Morgan Heritage,Dean Fraser,The Abyssinians,Etana,Queen Ifrica and Sly and Robbie to name a few.Isax has lent his signature sound to recordings by Gregory Isaacs,Alton Ellis and Ken Boothe as well horn section work for many Canadian reggae artists. His musical ports of call have included England, Jamaica, Dominica, Antigua, Barbados, Trinidad, Japan and every major city in North America.Isax has several instrumental singles released and one full length cd titled "Isax Interpretation" released in 2008 on the Jahmix label.Continuing to develop his "Jahzz Muzik" sound, Isax is currently getting material together for his second cd and remaining active in the studio and live arenas of Toronto.Future projects include collaborations with Queen Ifrica and Sly and Robbie.Stay on the lookout for Isax performing in your area and drop by for a visit at the official myspace page to say Hi! http://www.myspace.com/isaxinjah

Patrick Blanchard - Trombone

Patrick Blanchard is a Toronto based free lance trombonist. After a six year tenure on cruise ships, Patrick returned to Toronto to pursue a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Performance at the University of Toronto. While at U of T he studied with Terry Promane. Since returning to Toronto, Patrick has played with many of the cities top bands such as: Lady Son y Articulo Veinte ,Cache, Moda Eterna, Salsotika, The Composers Collective Big Band, The Chris Hunt 10tet+3, The Toronto Art Orchestra, The John McCloud Rex Hotel Big Band, The Toronto Jazz Orchestra, The Irie Band, Femi Abose and Culture Force, Baracatum, The Dark Park Brass Band and The Rudy Dubs. As a member of Lady Son he has performed in many of the Greater Toronto Area's top festivals such as The Beaches Jazz Festival, Toronto Winterfest, The Elora Jazz Festival, The Brantford Jazz Festival, The Burlington Jazz Festival, London's Sun Fest, The Toronto Hot and Spicy Festival and Luminato. Patrick was a member of the Lula Lounge All-Stars for their performance backing Salsa Legend Alfredo De La Fe. Patrick recently had the pleasure of backing Columbian salsa legend Maelo Ruiz.

Michael Garrick has not lost sight of the origins of Reggae music.   The vibes that he sends out fills the air with an upbeat political message about society's struggle for justice and harmony,yet, Michael Garrick's dynamic style carries his political message right to the heart and soul of his audiences'til they can't stop moving to the intense beat. Michael Garrick, who was centre-stage with Sunforce for eight years, holds on to his high energy, passionate approach to Reggae music.
